ENDLESS MOUNTAINS
CHAPTER #34

November 13, 2008
Chapter Meeting Notes

All Officers were present at the meeting.
President:  Paul welcomed all in attendance, and encouraged them to take their time in voting at the days meeting.

Vice President:  Deanna had nothing to report.

Secretary:  Minutes from last months meeting was waived.

Membership Officer:  Tim stated that the chapter is losing members, as we are down 8 members.  He stated that from the people he has spoken with, that their renewals are due to the declining economy.  He would like all members to push memberships.  Also, look in your Between the Lines, and check our Gold Star Supporters.  If you are going by their way, and see that they are about to expire, pay them a visit, and get them to renew their memberships.

Products:  Deanna stated that she still has some T-Shirts left, along with patches, pins, bandannas, and misc. other things.  If interested, please get with her.

Public Relations:  Deb stated that the District has compiled their key dates for next year.  This was done so that no two chapters will have an event on the same date.  This way we can try to support each others events.

Legislative Coordinator:  Ron reported that there is nothing going on at this time.  He encouraged all in attendance to please vote for officers.

Treasurer:   Lisa read the current balances, and all were accepted.

OLD BUSINESS

All mileage must be turned in  by the next meeting which is December 13th, 2008, to either Bud at Sterling Run Tavern, or to "Cowboy" Jim.

OSAL:  Bob is need of props, updated videos, and other materials.  Deb and Deanna have been in touch with Hal Hallock from the State to see what can be done.  When they get the information, they will pass it onto Bob, and if any expenses are incurred, it will be brought up to the Chapter to a vote.
Paul encouraged all to support this cause.

L&L SEMINAR:  January 23 & 24, 2009  Ticket prices are $70.00 ea.
After much discussion, it was voted on for the Chapter to pay for six people to attend the L&L Seminar.  The Chapter will provide the amount needed to pay for the registration, but the cost of the rooms will be the responsibility of the people attending the Seminar.

Toys for Tots:  The Chapter received a Thank You letter for our donation to this cause.

NEW BUSINESS

There was discussion on our monthly raffles.  We need more participation in this event.  We as a Chapter like to give money away to the Community, and the only way we can get this money we like to give away is to sell the tickets.  We are getting a reputation in the County that we are the "go to" people for needed donations, and we really need to be selling our tickets.  This is the life blood of our Chapter folks.  It is very important that all participate.  It was voted on that from now on anyone who attends a meeting will be given a book of tickets to sell.  These tickets must be turned in NO LATER THAN THE FOLLOWING MEETING.  They can be turned in to Deb, or any other officer, or dropped off at Sterling Run Tavern.
We still need someone who is willing to take this task over.  Deb has agreed to continue to do the tickets for another 3 months.
WAY TO GO DEB!!!!
Next months raffle will be for Wal-Mart Gift Cards, in the amounts of $100, $50, and $25 dollars.

Pocket Calendars:  There was an idea brought up at the District meeting on selling Pocket Calendars.  These calendars will have all the District Key Dates from the Chapters listed in them.  At the District Meeting it was decided on that it would be taken to the Chapter levels to see if the individual Chapters would like to sell these themselves, and have the profits go to the Chapters, or if the Chapters wanted it to be a District Project, and the Chapters sell them, and the monies go to the District.
It was voted on that the Chapter will sell these at Chapter level.  They will include our Logo on the Front Cover of the Calendar, and have all the Chapters in the Districts key dates listed.

Chapter Pool Tournament:  It was voted on that the Chapter Pool Tournament will be held at My Place, at 3pm. December 13, 2008.  (This will be after our meeting next month)

L&L Seminar Donation:  It was voted on to make a $150.00 Donation to the L&L Seminar.  In turn we will receive a 1/4 page ad and this will be used for our
Make-A-Wish Ride in July.
Ron and Lisa will deliver the donation when they attend the L&L Seminar.

During Hunting Season we will be selling tickets at Sterling Run Tavern.  These will be sold on Friday and Saturday nights.  Someone from this committee will be seated at a  table, and the tickets will be available for purchase.

Sherry stated that she received a $250.00 donation from Wal-Mart for her Volunteerism Always Pays (VAP).
